ב – The Womb That Swells, Builds, or Goes HollowOne Letter, Three Pictures, One Blog Post (Ready to copy-paste into Aleph Flame)בָּם ∙ בֵּן ∙ בָּסThe Three Faces of ב – the House/Womb That Rises1. בָּם (bam) – The Swelling Womb of Earthב = beyt = house / womb / that which contains

ם = mem = waters / chaos / massive flow Picture: The womb/house (ב) filled with living waters (ם) until it bulges and rises.

Every single word that begins with בם in Biblical Hebrew is about swelling, rising, or a high place caused by water or mass:בָּמָה (bāmāh) – high place, cultic platform, ridge, mound

בָּמֹתֵי (bāmōtê) – the “swellings” of the valleys (Isa 15:2, poetic for hills)

בָּמֳתֵי אָרֶץ (bāmŏtê āretz) – “the swellings of the earth” = mountain ridges

The womb of the land drinks water and bulges upward – exactly like a pregnant woman’s belly. The pictograph is perfect.2. בֵּן (ben) & בָּנָה (bānāh) – The Seed That Fills the Womb and Buildsב = beyt = house / womb

נ = nun = seed / fish / life / continuance Picture: The womb/house (ב) receives the living seed (נ) → it is filled, it builds, it multiplies.

Every word that begins with בן falls into this single story:בֵּן (ben) – son, child (literally “the one built inside the womb”)

בָּנִים (bānīm) – sons, children, citizens (the built ones)

בָּנָה (bānāh) – to build a house, a temple, an altar, a family, a dynasty

Psalm 127 makes the wordplay explicit:

“Unless YHVH builds (יִבְנֶה) the house… behold, sons (בָּנִים) are a heritage from YHVH.”

Sons are the real building. The womb that receives seed becomes the house that endures.3. בָּס / بَاسٌ (bās) – The Hollow, Bitter Bush That Is Trampledב = beyt = house / womb

ס = samech = thorn / turn aside / twist / whip Picture: A womb/house (ב) that produced only thorns (ס) – empty on the inside, sharp on the outside, therefore loathed and trampled.Every word that begins with בס is this picture:בּוֹס (bûs) – to trample underfoot, loathe, reject with contempt

بَاسٌ (bās) – the actual plant described in every major Arabic lexicon:

Lisan al-Arab (Ibn Manzur):

البَاسُ: شجر ذو شوك له قصبة جوفاء، مرّ جداً، لا تأكله الإبل ولا سائر المواشي لكراهته، فيبسونه ويطؤونه

“Al-bās is a thorny shrub with a hollow stalk, extremely bitter; camels and all livestock loathe it so intensely that they trample it and tread it down.”

A hollow womb that bore only bitterness and thorns – the exact opposite of בן and בם. The house is empty, the fruit is pain, so it is cast out and crushed beneath the feet. The Bitter-Water Connection – Numbers 5The woman suspected of adultery (sotah) drinks the “bitter water that brings the curse.”

If guilty:

תִּבְעֶה בִּטְנָהּ וְצָבְתָה יְרֵכָהּ (Num 5:27)

“Her belly shall swell (צָבָה from בם) and her thigh shall fall away.” Her womb becomes a hollow, swollen house of bitterness – exactly like the بَاسٌ plant: swollen belly (בם)

hollow inside (בס)

filled with bitterness and thorns instead of the seed of life (בן)

The Torah itself links all three pictographs in one judgment.Summary Table – The Three Paths of בLetters

Example Words

בם

Womb filled with water

Swells and rises

בָּמָה high place, swelling earth

בן

Womb filled with living seed

Builds and multiplies

בֵּן son, בָּנָה to build

בס

Womb filled with thorns

Hollow, bitter, trampled

בּוֹס trample, بَاسٌ hollow bitter bush

One letter ב – three possible pregnancies of the womb/house: Water → life-giving swell

Seed → enduring house

Thorns → hollow bitterness trodden underfoot

The womb decides.

The house is built or broken by what it receives.Choose the seed.

Reject the thorn.

Let the waters raise only what gives life.

The Pictographic Predator in בצעב = beyt = container / barn / house / womb (the safe storehouse of wealth or life)

צ = tzadi = the man on his side / the hunter lying in wait / the one who leaps to catch

ע = ayin = eye / to watch / the furrow of focused longing / greedy gaze on the target Together: בצע = the house/barn (ב) where the hidden hunter (צ) keeps his eye locked (ע) on the stored goods → he leaps, tears open, plunders.

It's the ultimate betrayal of the ב family: what was meant to build (בן) or swell with life (בם) is now eyed covetously and ripped apart for unjust profit.Biblical echo: Gen 34:27 – וַיִּבֹּזּוּ (wayyibbozū, from בצע) the sons of Jacob "plundered" Shechem after the rape of Dinah. The house is breached, the goods torn away – a violent "leap" under the watchful eye of revenge/greed.
